35 HAIKUS

Roger Gilbert-Lecomte
The chestnut branch
With its clusters of hands
Flat, soft, black.

Roger Gilbert-Lecomte was a Simplist poet. He was a member of the Grand Jeu circle who intentionally rejected the distinctions between dream and reality, between the visible and invisible. His unworldly haikus were written from the childlike perspective of a ‘pataphysical Overmind. (first English translation)
